Ear wax removal – Ear Wax Microsuction

Ear Wax Removal by Microsuction

If you are experiencing symptoms of ear wax build up such as reduction to hearing or a blocked sensation, contact us today for an appointment. Ear microsuction is a safe and efficient procedure for removing earwax using gentle suction under direct vision. You can also view your own ears on screen with the video otoscope.

What to expect

This minimally invasive procedure is performed by healthcare professionals who use a microscope to view the ear canal and a small suction device to gently remove the wax. Unlike traditional ear syringing, which uses water, microsuction is a dry procedure, reducing the risk of infection and making it suitable for people with previous perforated eardrums or previous ear surgeries. It is also generally more comfortable for the patient. This method is precise and quick, typically taking only a few minutes to complete.

Ear wax microsuction is suitable for most people, including those with sensitive ears, and is often recommended for individuals who produce a significant amount of earwax or experience frequent blockages. It’s an effective solution for maintaining ear health and preventing complications associated with wax build-up, such as hearing loss, tinnitus, or ear infections.

If during the procedure any abnormalities are found or an onward referral to ENT is recommended a referral letter to your GP will be included as part of the service. Please see appointments and cancellations section for more information about follow ups, referrals and booking terms and conditions.
