During your face-to-face consultation, I will conduct a thorough medical history check and a physical assessment of your facial muscle movement and skin quality. As an Independent Nurse Prescriber I ensure your treatment plan is medically and aesthetically appropriate for you.

Key information about Botulinum Toxin
Botulinum toxin is a prescription-only medicine used to temporarily relax targeted facial muscles. It works by reducing muscle activity that causes expression lines, helping to soften the appearance of wrinkles while maintaining natural movement. When administered by a qualified medical professional, botulinum toxin is a safe and effective treatment for facial rejuvenation, with results typically developing over 7–14 days and lasting around 3–4 months. It is not the only treatment option for wrinkles, and alternative or complementary treatments may be discussed during consultation to ensure the most appropriate, individualised approach.
Key advice following Botulinum Toxin treatment
- Expect minor swelling, redness, and bruising, which should subside within hours; bruising may take a few days if extensive
- Use Arnica tablets/gel or vitamin k cream to alleviate bruising
- Treat any headache with over-the-counter pain relievers
Do’s:
- Remain upright for 2 hours post-treatment
- Exercise treated muscles by making facial expressions for the first hour
- Use mineral-based makeup if applying within 6 hours
Don’ts:
- Avoid facial massages and electrical stimulation of the face for 2 weeks
- When cleansing, use gentle strokes away from the eyes and avoid applying pressure
- Refrain from wearing tight caps or garments on the treated area
- Avoid Alcohol, UV exposure and extreme heat such as sunbeds, hot showers, sauna/steam rooms and strenuous exercise for 48 hours

Follow up arranged within 2-3 weeks of treatment – this is to assess the effect of the treatment. Adjustment doses may be required which are included in the price, these are given only if required for optimum results.
