Ear Wax Removal in Macclesfield — Mobile Microsuction Home Visits
Ear Wax Removal by Microsuction
A blocked ear has a way of taking over — muffled hearing, that underwater feeling, a hearing aid that whistles or seems to have stopped pulling its weight. Wax is the usual cause, and with GP practices around Macclesfield no longer offering wax removal, many people are left wondering where to turn. Our answer is simple: an NHS-trained registered nurse comes to your home, and gentle microsuction clears the problem — usually within days of your call.
Covering Macclesfield town and the surrounding villages
We visit homes across the whole area — Macclesfield itself, plus Prestbury, Bollington, Poynton, Tytherington, Broken Cross, Sutton, Rainow and Disley. Being mobile matters more out here than almost anywhere: rather than a drive into town and a hunt for parking, the clinic comes up your drive. It’s a service especially valued by older residents, hearing aid wearers, busy families and anyone in the surrounding villages a fair distance from the nearest clinic.
If a build up of wax is preventing any of the following:
- hearing test
- tympanometry
- impression taking
- fitting a hearing aid
- efficient use of a hearing aid
Gentle microsuction in your own home
Microsuction clears wax with precise, gentle suction under direct vision, with no water flushed into the ear — the reason ear specialists consider it the safer, more comfortable successor to old-fashioned syringing. With our video otoscope you can see inside your own ears on screen, before and after, so there’s no mystery about what was done or why. Every visit includes a full ear health check, and anything needing medical attention gets flagged and directed to the right care straight away.

Ear wax removal in Macclesfield— FAQs
My GP practice in Macclesfield doesn’t remove ear wax anymore — why? Ear irrigation is no longer routinely funded, so most practices across Macclesfield and East Cheshire have withdrawn it. Private microsuction has become the standard route — and a home-visit service means the villages aren’t left travelling for it.
Do you really come out to the villages? Yes — Prestbury, Bollington, Poynton, Disley and the rest of the surrounding area are all covered, at no extra charge for the visit.
I wear hearing aids — can wax really affect them? It’s one of the most common causes of whistling, feedback and aids that suddenly seem weak. Clearing the wax often transforms performance, and we’re happy to check your ears ahead of an audiology appointment or new fitting.
Is microsuction suitable for older people? Yes — it’s the method generally recommended for older adults because it’s controlled, gentle and doesn’t involve water. Every appointment begins with screening questions and a check of your ear health.
How soon can you come, and what does it cost? Usually within a few days. Removal is from £60 including the home visit and ear health check, anywhere in the Macclesfield area.
