Ear Wax Removal in Stockport — Mobile Microsuction Home Visits

Ear Wax Removal by Microsuction

If your hearing has gone muffled, your ear feels blocked, or your hearing aid has started whistling, ear wax is the most common culprit — and most GP practices across Stockport no longer offer wax removal. That’s exactly the gap our mobile service fills: safe, gentle microsuction carried out in your own home by an NHS-trained registered nurse, usually within a few days of you getting in touch.

Home visits across Stockport and its districts

We cover the whole borough — including Cheadle Hulme, Bramhall, Hazel Grove, Marple, Romiley, Heaton Moor, Heaton Mersey, Edgeley, Offerton and Reddish. Because we come to you, there’s no clinic to travel to, no parking to find and no waiting room. Home visits are particularly suited to older residents, hearing aid wearers, anyone caring for a family member, and people who simply can’t get out easily.

If a build up of wax is preventing any of the following:

  • hearing test
  • tympanometry
  • impression taking
  • fitting a hearing aid
  • efficient use of a hearing aid

What is microsuction — and why is it the safer option?

Microsuction removes wax using gentle suction under direct vision — no water is flushed into the ear, which is why it’s the method preferred by ear specialists and considered safer than the old syringing approach. You can even watch the whole thing on screen with our video otoscope, so you see exactly what we see, before and after. The appointment includes a full ear health check, and if we find anything that needs medical attention, we’ll direct you straight to the right care.

Why Stockport patients choose us

  • CQC-regulated ear care — our service is registered and inspected, which very few mobile providers can say.
  • An experienced NHS nurse, not a high-street kiosk — over 20 years of clinical experience behind every appointment.
  • Fast appointments — usually within days, with no GP referral needed.
  • Transparent pricing — ear wax removal from £60, with the ear health check included. If there’s no wax to remove, we’ll tell you honestly.

Ear wax removal in Stockport — FAQs

My GP surgery in Stockport says they don’t do ear syringing anymore. Is that normal? Yes — most practices across Stockport and Greater Manchester have withdrawn the service, as ear irrigation is no longer routinely funded. Private microsuction has become the standard route, and home-visit services mean you don’t need to travel for it.

How quickly can you visit me in Stockport? Usually within a few days. Call or message and we’ll find the earliest slot that suits you.

Do you treat hearing aid wearers? All the time — wax is one of the most common causes of whistling, feedback and “weak” hearing aids. Clearing it often transforms how well an aid works, and we can check your ears before an audiology appointment or fitting.

Is microsuction safe for older people? Yes — it’s the method generally recommended for older adults precisely because it’s gentle, controlled and doesn’t involve flushing water into the ear. Every appointment starts with a check of your ear health and history.
